While figurative in nature, the sculpture of Leslie Wilcox moves beyond the human form in both scale and intent. Working with wire screen, resin, concrete and found objects, the artist fabricates clothing-like shapes emphasizing the absence of the figure while, often humorously, commenting on social interactions. Wilcox attended the School of the Museum of Fine Arts on a scholarship, and is a member of the Reclamation Artists and a frequent contributor to the Boston’s First Night festivities.
