Julia Shepley layers cast and etched glass combined with stitching, crocheted cord, carved wood, shadow shapes and cast shadows to create three-dimensional drawings, sculpture and installations. She works in series of related works which can be shown in a group installation, in pairs, or individually. Shepley is represented by the Boston Sculptors Gallery, Boston, MA, and is an alumni member of A.I.R. Gallery, a member of The Textile Study Group in NYC, and is represented in museum and library collections in the Boston area. She works out of her studio in the Brickbottom Artists Building in Somerville, MA
